Learning to love people means that somewhere along the way, you will also have to learn to let them go. Some people you get to love and know for an entire lifetime; others are here but for a brief season before you must say goodbye. Sweet little Madeline was such a person. I knew her only about six months before I had to finally surrender her to God's keeping in Heaven. Not a very lengthy span of time, but long enough for her to begin carving her own little niche in my heart. I've known of her frail heart and fragile condition from the beginning of my sponsorship, but there was always a thread of hope while she lived that I might meet and hold her in person when I return to Shepherd's Field sometime. I will still get to do both those things, only I'll have to wait now until Heaven. I will dearly miss being able to help and love this little one from a distance, but know that God has been perfectly sovereign in taking her home now and has made her much more complete and healed than she could ever have been on earth. I thank Him for connecting her life with mine for even a short season and anticipate in Hope the day that I will finally get to worship Jesus alongside her forever in Heaven."The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD." ~Job 1:21
