Today I wanted to post the lyrics to a beautiful song from Steven Curtis Chapman's "All Things New" album. It's called "What Now," and I urge you to find the song and listen to it if you haven't already (it's unfortunately not available to put on my playlist).
I saw the face of Jesus in a little orphan girl
She was standing in the corner on the other side of the world
And I heard the voice of Jesus gently whisper to my heart
Didn't you say you wanted to find me?
Well, here I am, here you are
CHORUS
So, What now?
What will you do now that you found Me?
What now?
What will you do with this treasure you've found?
I know I may not look like what you expected
But if you remember this is right where I said I would be
You've found me
What now?
And I saw the face of Jesus down on Sixteenth Avenue
He was sleeping in an old car, while his mom went looking for food
And I heard the voice of Jesus gently whisper to my soul
Didn't you say you wanted to know me?
Well here I am, and it's getting cold
Chorus
So, come and know
Come and know, know me now
Come, come and know, know me now
Come and know
Come and know, know me now
Come, come and know, know me now
What will you do now that you found me?
What now?
What will you do with this treasure you've found?
I know I may not look like what you expected
But if you remember this is right where I said I would be
You've found me
What now? What now?
So what now? Need is staring you in the face...what are you doing about it? God has been teaching me so much in the past many years that THIS LIFE IS NOT ABOUT ME, and I have a passion to see others realize this same truth. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to show Him to a dying and broken world, yet why is it so easy for us to just sit back in our own prosperity and pretend that we didn't see the need or hear God's voice beckoning us to respond? May this never be! This week, I challenge you (and, of course, myself) to stare right back at the hurting world that surrounds you and honestly ask yourself, "What Now?". How can my life be used to minister to the lost and the broken for Christ's renown and glory? How can I serve Christ Himself by serving others? God's blessings on your efforts!

Amen!! That is so true. I love how it asks the question what now? WHAT are we to do with the need? It is EVERYWHERE? How are we to help the millions of orphans in the world, the billions of people without food? One life at a time, I suppose. I long to help and I long to serve. I'm praying the Lord shows us how we can help!
Thanks for sharing! :)
