I shared with you all in a previous post my aunt's wonderful idea for an "orphan tree" at Christmastime. The basic idea was to decorate a tree with photos of waiting children around the world and use it as a reminder to pray that they and the millions of other global orphans would find families very soon. Just recently, my aunt emailed me these pictures to show the progress of her orphan tree (I will post pics of my own mini tree when it is complete). She laminated photos printed off the
internet, matted them on green and red
cardstock, and tied them to the tree with festive bows, interspersed with other cards containing words like
love,
child, and
sacrifice. As you can see, her tree is simply beautiful and an awesome reminder for both her family and others who visit h

er house to remember the fatherless in prayer this holiday season. Let's also remember that we too were wretched, hopeless people before Christ Jesus came as a baby to inaugurate His wonderful plan of redemption and adoption of us as His beloved children, and may that knowledge encourage us all to share His story and the true meaning of the holy-days to all we co
me in contact with this Christmas season!

I love when people use the line: that we too were wretched, hopeless people before Christ Jesus came into our lives. It is so true and it is so wonderful to think that our God is willing to welcome us in like orphans. And as Christians we are to do the same.
