We never knew...
... we could love two little girls across the ocean--so completely different from and unrelated to us--so very much. But within the first few minutes of meeting our little sponsor girls, Kaisha and I had fallen completely in love. These two little girls, each with a complicated and as-of-yet inoperable heart condition, ultimately gave us heart conditions as well...fierce, overwhelming love for and attachment to them and a grieving brokenness at having to leave them behind. But ours is a heart condition completely worth having, and one, though hard at times, that we have been blessedly changed by. It is a difficult thing to have God break your heart over precious little ones like Margaret and Tiffany, but He uses this heart-softening (and we trust will continue to use it in the future) in so many amazing and wonderful ways to accomplish His great purposes in our lives! We wish everyone could go be face-to-face with orphans for a time like we were and experience for themselves God awakening hearts and stirring up vision and passion in people to care for these precious treasures!

Aww, very cute pictures!! I like how you compared your heart conditions. It must have truly been heart breaking to leave them. But it's great to know God has a plan for them! And this is part of that plan.
I hope to be face-to-face with orphans soon, but God's timing is perfect, so I will wait on Him.
Oh Annie I completely understand your heart. It is a painful painful experience to love these little girls so far away- but ultimately God uses the pain to challenge and strengthen us. Knowing Claudia has changed my life forever. I'll never be the same person.
And one day, there is the hope that these children will no longer be fatherless. For now though, they have been in this world, in our lives for this season.
