Faces

Here is just a brief glimpse of the many precious faces we got to see during our recent trip in China. When we first arrived, these faces overwhelmed us, and it was often difficult to see the beauty of these little treasures that lay beyond their needy and "imperfect" appearances. However, over the course of our trip, G*d began to increasingly open our hearts to love these children with HIS unconditional love, that which is not based on merit, worthiness, or external appearances but on the unchanging character of Chr*st. He impressed on us the fact that, as one fellow visitor commented, "we're all special needs children." So I pray that you too, if you are a believer in Chr*st, will see reflected in these precious little faces your own needs prior to G*d's adoption of you as His child and your continued need of His grace and care today. And if you are an unbeliever reading this, may God use these faces to help you see your own scars of sin and separation from Him (the plight of all of us humans prior to salvation), and lead you to seek out the Great Physician, J*esus Chr*st, who reconciles us to the Father and gives us new birth as adopted children through His atoning work of salvation on the cross. May knowledge of our heavenly needs inspire us to go forth and care for those with great earthly needs, seeking to love and serve them as our great S*vior has so loved and served us. Blessings!

Oh, Annie, how your stories and pictures touch my heart! Such a life-altering experience you have had, ministering to these little ones. I'm so proud of you and your compassionate heart for these children. Thanks for sharing with us and giving us a peek into another world of great need.
Love, Nana

These faces are very precious! It is hard for people (me included) to accept anything different like special needs in a child. But it would really be awesome if we could somehow look past that and see the beautiful chid that is inside.
